L’Oreal Brandstorm 2023
Duke Kunshan University’s Team – Marketing Machines, headed into the National Final of the L’Oreal Brandstorm Competiton, and won a seat in the Top 4 among 1700+ competing teams (the only freshmen team to win Top 4!). Jackson Li, Class of 2026, was recognized as the Best Performing Individual.
This is the 7th year of Duke Kunshan University students participating in the L’Oreal’s Brandstorm competition. It is a Global Innovation Challenge, an initiative of the L’Oréal Group that aims to offer the participants an experience and an opportunity to innovate in the beauty-tech industry.
This year, the Marketing Machines team was comprised of 3 first year students interested in the intersection of beauty and tech, Jackson Li, Alex Wang and Muhammad Ajlal.
Speaking of their journey, Jackson said, “Through this competition, I had the privilege of making many exceptional friends. Our team has continuously refined our product plan, which allows me to build a deeper understanding of the commercial model of the product. As a first-year student, this competition has reaffirmed my choice of pursuing a career in the FMCG industry.”
Alex expressed his appreciation, “We can’t simply attribute this great achievement to our team’s efforts. Many advisors and mentors revised our idea with us and polished our project, especially Career Services, which has been very helpful throughout the process.”
With innovative and bold spirits, DKU students are unstoppable!
